Extra end - Special rule
If, after 6 ends the game is tied in the group games*** "The Roffe Method***" will be used. This end is only played with a total of four stones. The team that should have had the hammer in the extra end, gets to choose if they want to play stone 1 and 4, or stone 2 and 3. You play as usual with your team, you can choose who will throw the stones. If the end is blank the team without the hammer wins and is awarded two points, the loser is awarded one point.
Draws & Draw to the button competition
- This is to decide who gets the hammer in the first end.
- Each team gets one practice stone and then a draw to the button.
- Play the draws in opposite direction of the first end (towards the clubhouse)
- Dark Colour (Red) plays anti clockwise
- Blue/Yellow plays Clockwise
- The team on top of the scorecard play the first stone/draw.
- The teams decide among themselves who throws the stone.
- Do not remove the stone from play before the opposite team has "measured" the stone.
In the draw competition we count points, but for the hammer in the game the closest to the button wins.So make sure you agree. If no stone in the house, spin the stone to decide, but remember to write down the scores of the draw.
The draws are scored from 0 to 5 points and must be written down on the scorecard.
If it is not written down on the scorecard, or the scorecard is not delivered to the secretariat - Both teams will get zero points.
The draws will be a decider - if teams have the same amount of points in the group games and for seeding into the playoffs
0 Points if the stone is not in the house
1 point for biting the 12 foot
2 points for biting the 8 foot
